If you don’t know about it, lala is an online music service/social network that allows you to listen to songs for free one time through. Read their How it Works section here.

It also allows you to upload or sink licenses of all the music you have on your hard drives.
This is awesome for normal people but even better for churches. How many cds do you waste for house music or what not? Now you don’t have to. Using lala would basically mean you have your own music server that you can access through a web browser and play straight from your computer and into your house system.
Also you can buy web albums, which means you can only listen to it on the web, but the price is drastically cheaper.
You can buy Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida” album for $0.60 and the mp3 album for $3.99.

Lala.com has totally flipped the music field on it’s head and made it fun and easy to get and listen to music without feeling like the record company is abusing you.

Have you heard of VOTA? I hadn’t heard of them either.
Bouncing around on lala though I came across their new self-titled album “VOTA” and haven’t looked back.

Originally named Casting Pearls, they changed their name so they wouldn’t be confused with Casting Crowns.
The cd has a One Republic feel, with light Maroon 5 tones in it. Not enough to make you turn it off but just enough to give the cd swagger. Thanks VOTA for bringing the bounce back to CCM.

With Anne Jackson’s new book “Mad Church Disease” (amazon link) being released soon, we thought it might be appropriate to wrangle her over to the fold for a bit of chitter chatter.
With a slew of emails and twitters being launched at her, we finally broke her down and made her say uncle. It was epic.
She decided to write a four-five part series on “Building Your Team”, which is sure to help all you as you search for that perfect fit in your organization. Also see Swerve’s article about church teams, Team Dynamics.

She will be releasing each article on mondays with a week off for Christmas and New Years.

When Christmas comes, there are few things that one can look forward to more than presents and loved ones. Alas there is one more thing that we all look forward too, the awesome people who try out for Christmas productions.
I have cataloged one such occurrence which to this day helps when the tension of “The Show” get to you. Enjoi. (it gets better and btw this person is totally being serious when he is singing, it is not to be laughed at)
